I created this image myself. Because the image is from 1902 artwork, any copyright that it had years ago is now expired and has been automatically placed in the public domain by copyright treaty. --Optikos (talk) 22:46, 25 October 2005

The Bell logos, past and present, are registered trademarks owned by the RBOCS in the US, and Bell IP Holdings internationally --X570 (talk) 18:13, 15 December 2005

It seems perfectly clear that any possible copyright has long since expired; the logo is in the public domain. However, it is still quite possibly a valid trademark. The question is thus whether this is trademark fair use, which is dicussed in some detail at Wikipedia:Logos. We cannot claim this image is {{PD-old}}, as that is measured as 100 years from authors death (that is unless we can prove the author died 8 years after making this logo). Instead I have added {{PD-Canada}} (assuming the author was older than 10 years old and lived less then 120 years) and with {{PD-US}} (which covers Wikipedia servers located in the United States).--Svgalbertian (talk) 15:43, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
