Description
English: The Limehouse Cut, London (photographic albumen print, 30 April 1886). The scene is a few yards west of the Burdett Road bridge, near present-day Copenhagen Place In the centre is the Copenhagen Oil Mills, owned by Oscar and Adolph Hirsch, seed crushers. Dumb barges are moored in the foreground. In the right foreground is the Victoria Lead Works. In the left background is Copenhagen Wharf, where domestic coal ash was recycled and sent by barge to Kent to make bricks.
