Music writers Andy Neill and Peter Doggett write about how the album sleeve has become the rarest available LP by the Kinks. (Neill, Andy (February 2000). "The Great Lost Kinks Album". Historian Carey Fleiner writes that the album sleeve's cover artwork, depicting the Kinks standing beside several "elegant horses" was intended to "play up their 'Englishness'".
