Description
English: This is a close-up of Mr. Tan Kim Ching (or Tan Kim Cheng), wearing a round skullcap. He was a rice mill and ship owner, one of the founders of Tanjong Pagar Dock Company (predecessor of Singapore Harbour Board in 1913) in 1864, and leader of the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan (clan association) that was founded in 1840.
