Description
English: Valley of the Tombs, 1st century AD. Wadi al-Qubur. Some towers in this ancient 2000 year old landscape were blown up using explosives by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in 2015. The crossroads of several civilizations: Assyrian, Graeco-Roman, Bedouin and Persian influences combined. Palmyra, Syria.
