Summary

Description
English: Annotated Hubble image of disintegrated asteroid P/2013 R3 on 13 February 2014, with major fragments labeled. Identified fragments are based on Figures 5-7 of Jewitt et al. (2017) from The Astronomical Journal.

This is a median-stacked composite of six images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope's WFC3 camera on 13 February 2014. The total integration time is 1,973 seconds (33 minutes). All images were taken in the F350LP visible wide-band filter. Due to the original image being monochromatic, a blue tint is applied for better visibility. David Jewitt is the principal investigator of these observations.

North is up and East is left, while the projected anti-solar direction points at position angle 69 degrees counterclockwise from the north, parallel to the tail direction of the fragments.
