Description
English: Ortler Alps at 10 000 m.
Deutsch: Ortlergruppe und Cevedalegruppe aus 10000 Meter Höhe, Blickrichtung Norden. Der Gletscher im Vordergrund ist der Fornigletscher, der hufeisenförmig von der Kette mit den Hauptgipfeln Pizzo Tresero, Punta San Matteo, Punta Taviela und Monte Vioz umrahmt wird. Vom Monte Vioz zieht der großteils vergletscherte Grat über Palon de la Mare und Monte Rosole zum Monte Cevedale. Hinter diesem blickt man in das Suldental bis nach Stilfs. Der vergletscherte Gipfel im Hintergrund in der Mitte ist der Ortler. Links davon die Thurwieserspitze und schließlich der Gletscher Vedretta di Campo. Die unauffällige Bergkette links im Mittelgrund gipfelt links im Monte Confinale. Deutlich ist der Gegensatz zwischen den Karbonatgesteinen (grau) oben und den Kristallingesteinen (braun) erkennbar.
