Summary
| Description |
English: Mycorrhiza, a symbiotic association between plant roots and fungi. Fungal hyphae (E) increase the surface area of the plant root and thus increase the uptake of key nutrients (P, K, N). The plant supplies the fungi with fixed carbon in the form of glucose (A=root cortex, B=root epidermis, C=arbuscle, D=vesicle, F=root hair, G=nuclei). |
