Low resolution?

File is only 38K in size. Size of original photo has been reduced.

Purpose of use

Used to identify the subject of the article and to illustrate what the interior of the long-closed venue looked like.

Replaceable?

The business has been closed for almost 30 years. It was in business from 1966-1988. The image here is from a postcard produced for the club. There is no dating on the card and also no copyright marks. (see links above). The issue with declaring it PD is that it's not known when in the time frame 1966 to 1988, it was produced. If a copy with some dating information (postmark or other date notation) can be located, this image can be converted to PD status and enlarged.

Other information

The photo is of historical value only because the restaurant closed in 1988 with its effects sold at auction in 1989. While the building which once housed Maxwell's Plum is still standing, there are no traces of the restaurant and bar visible. At present, no PD photos of the club have been located. Should one be discovered, it will replace this photo.
