Description Mediterranean Sea (April 15, 2005) - Marines assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) along with Israeli Defense Force soldiers fast rope from a CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter onto the flight deck of amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3). Marines assigned to the MEU trained with the Israeli soldiers to keep their skills sharp and to build foreign relationships. Kearsarge and 26th MEU are on deployment in support of the global war on terrorism.
