English: The aizkolari (axe-man) called Luxia on a trunk-cutting bet. Year 1949, Deba, Gipuzkoa (Basque Country). The tree on the image was cut by a group in Nabarniz, Biscay, Basque Country and it's 2,1 meters tall. Joan Joxe Luxia Narbaiza accepted a bet of 50.000 pesetas if he was able to cut it. Finally, due to the extreme hotness he couldn't do it. Deutsch: Dieser Baum wurde von einer Bande von Nabarniz (Bizkaia) gefällt. Die Buche gemessen 2 Meter, 10 Zentimeter im Durchmesser. Die Herausforderung wurde von Quietude akzeptiert: Schneiden, Falzen, fünfzigtausend für jede Partei. Ruhe war gezwungen, die drückende Hitze überwältigte sie. Español: Este árbol fue derribado por una cuadrilla de Nabarniz (Bizkaia). El haya medía 2 metros 10 centimetros de diametro. El reto de cortarlo fue aceptado por Joan Joxe Luxia Narbaiza en Deva, Guipúzcoa, en 1949, cruzándose cincuenta mil pesetas por cada parte. Luxia se tuvo que retirar de la prueba agobiado por el asfixiante calor. Luxia era de Azkoitia. Euskara: Luxia aizkolaria Airoko-Pagoaren ebaketa erronkan zehar. 1949. urtea, Deba, Gipuzkoa.
