Summary

Description
English: Interior. From a webpage I translate and edit: Although the real name of the mosque was İhyaiyye, it was called Kapu Mosque due to its proximity to the Atpazarı Gate of the old Konya Castle [Note: Kapı is a more regular spelling of kapu, gate. It seems to be the preferred spelling locally). The mosque, which was built in 1658 by Pir Hüseyin Çelebi, was renovated in 1811 by Abdurrahman Efendi, known as Eşenlerli Köse Mufti. The mosque, was completely burned in the Konya Bazaar fire in 1867, together with the foundation shops, but was rebuilt. During the reconstruction of the mosque, especially the stones of Konya Castle were used. Since spolia material is frequently used in the construction of the mosque, it is possible to see pieces from ancient structures. In addition, the mosque is the largest mosque built in Konya during the Ottoman period. To the north of the mosque, which was built on an approximately square area, there is a high narthex space and a low arched sentence door, resting on 10 marble columns. There is also a gate in the east and west directions. The mosque, built of cut stones, is covered with a roof from the outside and eight domes, large and small inside.
