English: Kandila section of the Plateau Orchomenus, a karst basin/depression in 630 m, (polje). Kandila Plateau is the north eastern extension of the large basin, with the village Kandia on its slope. Relatively frequent geological phenomenon in the karst basins of the northeast Peloponnese, Greece.
The plateau has no natural surface water outlet. Precipitation must be drained by ditches. When precipitation of winters is exceptionally rich, some agricultural fields may be wet or even flooded. Depending on the capacity of the ditches and the geologically old ponors at the Plateau Orchomenus’ western section, a temporary lake may result even nowadays.
