Summary

Description

I have tried numerous times to take a decent photo of this piece of street art and can't quite get one, so i have given up and posted this one.. Location: Bishops Square, Spitalfields, East London.

This installation makes direct reference to the successive waves of migrants who have arrived in Spitalfields through the centuries, narrating humanity’s continuing perseverance for survival and dignity. An authentic wooden fishing boat containing seven seated human figures in steel, Lemos’ sculpture symbolizes the universal struggle and suffering of millions of uprooted migrants around the world.<anofollow" class="external free">http://gazelliarthouse.com/forum/kalliopi-lemos-boat-people-spitalfields-february-2017/" rel="nofollow">More?</a>
