Like the Shute Octagon House, it was built by Boss Jones in the 1850’s. Like the Shute Octagon House, it was built by Boss Jones in the 1850’s. Both the Shute and Jenkins octagon houses are examples of the Octagon Mode made famous in mid-nineteenth century by Orson S.
