Français : Hubert Robert avait été nommé garde des tableaux du roi en 1784. Membre du conservatoire, il a fait plusieurs dessins et peintures du musée en cours d'aménagement. Il a imaginé la Grande Galerie telle qu'elle est aujourd'hui, avec sa segmentation et l'éclairage zénithal.
