"Backstage, between rehearsals and radio shows, Orson occupied the star dressing room, which had a bath and a small sitting room with a bed." — John Houseman, Run Through (1972), pp. 211–212. The show was in rehearsal through August 1936. After previews it officially opened September 26, 1936, and ran nearly three months. Welles occasionally played the role of Mugglethorp.
