Summary

Description

A hare runs around in a globe, which features only Great Britain and Australia. Harefield explains why: After Vernon's death Belhammonds (Harefield Park) was acquired by Charles Billyard-Leake who, being in Australia during the First World War, gave Harefield Park for use as an Australian hospital. The park and house were bought by the county council immediately after the war becoming a famous, large hospital later. This globe sits towards the edge of the Green, the south-west corner of once much larger Harefield Common.
