English: Photograph of Mrs Hélène Standish, wife of Henry Noailles Widdrington Standish. Madame Standish was a French aristocrat who had a relationship with Edward, Prince of Wales, on his occasional visits to Paris. Her husband was the grandson of the Duke of Mouchy. Hélène Standish is one of the figures of Parisian socialite and aristocratic life and also serves as a model for Marcel Proust for his character of duchess of Guermantes.
Français : Hélène Standish née Hélène de Pérusse des Cars, est l'épouse d'Henry Noailles Widdrington Standish (1847-1920). Elle est née à Paris, le 7 août 1847 et décédée à Paris, le 12 octobre 1933. Madame Standish est une aristocrate française qui entretenait une relation avec Edward, prince de Galles, lors de ses visites occasionnelles à Paris. Son mari est le petit-fils du duc de Mouchy. Hélène Standish est l'une des figures de la vie mondaine et aristocratique parisienne et sert de modèle également à Marcel Proust pour son personnage de la duchesse de Guermantes.
