She is the only woman protesting in this picture, which shows her feminist activism. She was the original individual who brought protesting via picketing to the LGBT movement. This picture is necessary because it shows why she was unique as a bBack activism, a feminist activist, and a lesbian activist. |

Since Ernestine protested in the 1960s, there are very few pictures of her that can be found. This is one of three that I was able to find in my extensive research. There is no alternative, free illustration of her that exemplifies her protesting activism as this one does. |
