Description

Dvârapâla et Devatâ sur les murs du sanctuaire

Ce temple a été construit au début du XIIème siècle, sous le règne de Sûryavarman II. Il est dans le style d'Angkor Vat. Il était dédié au culte hindouiste.

Il a été restauré par anastylose, dans les années 60, par B-P. Groslier, un archéologue français.

Il comprend une partie centrale composée d'une seule tour-sanctuaire reliée par un passage à une pièce plus grande appelée mandapa. Certains linteaux et frontons sont finement sculptés, les murs sont ornés de gardiens de porte (dvârapâla) et de divinités féminines (devatâ).

L'enceinte est percée de deux gopuras donnant à l'est et à l'ouest.
