Description
English: Commonwealth Railways narrow-gauge steam locomotive NM37 and part of The Ghan train at Port Augusta, 20 January 1954. Cropping of the rear carriages is to emulate the composition of the four-car train in which General Douglas MacArthur travelled from Alice Springs to Terowie in his escape from the Philippines in 1942.
