Description
English: Photograph of Charles Moore, Jr., secretary of the United States Commission of Fine Arts from 1910 (the commission's inception) until 1937. Moore was political secretary to U.S. Senator James McMillan from 1890 to 1903 (McMillan's death). From 1900 to 1902, Moore also served as McMillan's aide on the Senate Park Commission, which issued the "McMillan Plan" -- a deeply influential plan for the city of Washington in the District of Columbia.
