Français : Château de Pibrac, XVIème siècle (Haute-Garonne). Portail dit "Henri IV" construit en 1578 à la demande de Guy du Faur de Pibrac en prévision de la venue d'Henri de Navarre, futur roi de France. Le portail se présente comme un arc de triomphe dépourvu de tout motif décoratif. Dans chacun des pavillons se trouvait une pièce servant à protéger les concierges des intempéries. Notez qu'il ne s'agit pas du portail d'entrée actuel, il ouvre sur le parc assez loin du château.
English: Castle of Pibrac, 16th century (Haute-Garonne, France). Portal called "Henry IV" built in 1578 at the request of Guy du Faur de Pibrac in anticipation of the arrival of Henry of Navarre, future king of France. The portal is a triumphal arch with no decorative motifs. In each of the pavilions was a room used to protect the doormen from the weather. |
