Assistance to Paraguay for diagnostics of COVID-19
COVID-19 equipments donated by the IAEA to Paraguay, received at the Health Sciences Research Institute (IICS) of the National University of Asunción (UNA). The activity took place in the university campus in the city of San Lorenzo, with the presence of the national chancellor, Ambassador Antonio Rivas Palacios; the rector of the UNA, Prof. Dr. Zully Vera de Molinas; the General Director of the IICS, Mario Fabián Martínez Mora; and the Director of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), Javier Barúa. 9 June 2020
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is dispatching equipment to countries around the world to enable them to use a nuclear-derived technique to rapidly detect the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. This emergency assistance is part of the IAEA's response to requests for support from Member States in controlling an increasing number of infections worldwide.
