Summary

Description

c/n 1 The B-6 was a rotor-kite designed to be towed behind a car or boat and after release it could remain airborne for up to 15 minutes. The type first flew in 1953 and was sold as a kit, costing as little as $100. This is the first ‘kit-built’ B-6 and was donated to the Smithsonian Institute by Bensen Aircraft in 1966. It is seen on display at the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center as part of the National Air and Space Museum. Washington Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, Virginia
