Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van het gebied tussen Rio de Janeiro en Buenos Aires werd in opdracht van Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) gegraveerd door Gerard Coeck (1608/1609-ca. 1649). Blaeu wachtte vermoedelijk meer dan tien jaar met de publicatie van de kaart. De kaart wordt alleen aangetroffen in de grote wereldatlas, de Atlas Maior die Blaeu vanaf 1662 publiceerde.; Linksonder een opdracht door Joan Blaeu aan de jezuiet Vincentio Carrafa.
English: The map shows a section across South-America between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires and was engraved by Gerard Coeck (1608/1609-c. 1649) and ordered by Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). Blaeu probable had to wait more than ten years for its publication. The map can only be found in the Atlas Maior.
