Description2019 UCLA Charles E. Young Research Library.jpg
English: The Charles E. Young Research Library is one of the largest libraries at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Unlike the College Library which is geared towards undergraduates, this library is meant primarily for faculty and graduate students who wish to conduct research. The library holds resources in the humanities, social sciences, education, public affairs, government information, journals, newspapers, and maps. The eastern half of the building opened in 1964, and the western half in 1970. In 1997 it was named after the university's former chancellor of 29 years, Charles E. Young. The building was designed by architects A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Earl Emmons. The building underwent major internal renovations in 2009 and 2011 designed by Perkins and Will.
