Summary

Description Dudleya anthonyi—Anthony’s liveforever. Don't look for this species in CalFlora or the Flora of North America. The Jepson Manual, 2nd ed., considers the taxon as "best treated as a subspecies of Dudleya pulverulenta." Many of those who have actually observed it in the wild or in the few botanic gardens with specimens regard it as worthy of species status. D. anthonyi is restricted to eleven cinder cones of the San Quintin Volcanic Field of Baja California and nearby Isla de San Martín and thus barely within the limits of the California Floristic Province. It is Pollinated by hummingbirds, who love the flowers. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
