Description
English: A collage of damage photos from Houston, Texas, in the aftermath of the 1915 Galveston hurricane. The Houston Post captioned this image with the following eleven captions, corresponding to the numbers inscribed on the individual photos:
  1. Ruined Episcopal church and tower on Texas avenue and Fannin street
  2. Bollfrass Pharmacy at the corner of McGowan and Crawford which collapsed Tuesday morning.
  3. Lake formed by railroad tracks at Montrose; water entering houses
  4. Louis Phelps home, 3805 Main Street. Roof lifted off and interior shattered
  5. Fence enclosing botanical gardens at Texas and Louisiana entirely torn down
  6. Side and rear portions of collapsed buildings
  7. Shattered windows and fallen signs of shops on Texas avenue near Travis street
  8. Hot house of Gulf Florist Company at Main and Rusk, with skylights removed
  9. Store at corner of Main and Texas which suffered severy [sic].
  10. Shack at Texas and Smith which collapsed and fell into the bayou
  11. Broken signs and debris from buildings at corner of Texas and Travis
