Object history
English: Originating in Italy around 1400. The shoe consists of a 365 mm high wooden support initially covered in off-white leather. The frame has a seam in the middle front and back. The widened oval sole is covered with a leather sole and felt outer. A slipper-shaped shoe is sewn onto the backing in an inclined plane. The women's slipper consists of a leather upper that goes up to the ankle. The off-white stiff leather upper is decorated with incisions, carvings and perforated designs.
Français : Originaire d'Italie vers 1400. La chaussure est constituée d'un support en bois de 365 mm de haut initialement recouvert de cuir blanc cassé. Le cadre a une couture au milieu devant et derrière. La semelle ovale élargie est recouverte d'une semelle en cuir et d'un feutre extérieur. Une chaussure en forme de pantoufle est cousue sur le support dans un plan incliné. Le chausson pour femme est constitué d'une tige en cuir qui remonte jusqu'à la cheville. Le cuir supérieur en cuir rigide blanc cassé est décoré d'incisions, de sculptures et de motifs perforés.
Italiano: Proveniente dall'Italia intorno al 1600. La scarpa è costituita da un supporto in legno alto 365 mm inizialmente rivestito in pelle di colore bianco sporco. La cornice ha una cucitura al centro davanti e dietro. La suola ovale allargata è ricoperta da una suola in cuoio e esterno in feltro. Sul supporto è cucita una scarpa a forma di pantofola secondo un piano inclinato. La pantofola da donna è composta da una tomaia in pelle che arriva fino alla caviglia. La tomaia in pelle rigida color bianco sporco è decorata con incisioni, intagli e disegni traforati.
