Summary

Description
English: Bust portrait of man with glasses and a beard. "Dr. Eliot Wm. Greenleaf Eliot" (written on reverse side of image). Eliot was a staunch abolitionist minister and chancellor of Washington University who hired Alexander Archer, a runaway slave. He was also a member of the Western Sanitary Commission.
