DescriptionWat Photaram mural detail - Vedsuvan has brought Koumphan back to life, but Koumphan still yearns for Soumountha.jpg
English: This mural detail from Wat Photaram shows when Nyak Vedsuvan, who after learning that Nyak Koumphan had been killed by Sinxay and his bones interred in a stupa, comes down from the heavens to Nyak Koumphan's kingdom. Riding an elephant he has the elephant knock over the stupa seen on the far left of the photo. He then pours sacred water over the bones and brings Nyak Koumphan back to life. Unfortunately he still remains angry that Sinxay took Soumountha back to Muang Pengchan and refuses to listen to Vedsuvan who pleads with him to find another wife.
