Summary

Description
English: A photo, dating, most probably, from the early 1920's: a time when, to reduce operating costs, several French secondary networks had resorted to the use of gasoline-powered road vehicles, mounted on rails, to provide passenger services (e.g. GMC vans, converted into railcars), or even courier services, as seen above. - In Eure et Loir, on the departmental TEL network (SCF-Baert and Verney group), a vehicle of this kind (van with chassis: "Luc-Cour"), was used as a make-shift railcar to provide, in 1922, the urban service from Lèves to Luisant, (NB: replaced shortly afterwards by two GMC-Baert and Verney railcars) before being transferred to the CFB (Belfort) as a Draisine.- Note that, in the background, a goods wagon and a passenger carriage very typical of the VFIL or French rural tramways.
