Summary

Description
English: Russian First Moscow Watch Factory 'Kirov' (Poljot) 6MX marine chronometer. The timepiece is technically based on the German Einheitschronometer developed and produced during World War II. The production of German unified design chronometers with their harmonized components continued until long after World War II in Germany and the Soviet Union, who confiscated the original Einheitschronometer technical drawings, and set up a production line in Moscow in 1949.[1] The German Einheitschronometer ultimately became the mechanical marine timekeeper design produced in the highest volume, with about 58,000 units produced. Of these, less than 3,000 were produced during World War II, about 5,000 after the war in West and East Germany and about 50,000 in the Soviet Union and later post-Soviet Russia.
