English: On 4 January 1996 I wrote to the American Ambassador in London, William Crowe, enclosing a copy of my dossier of evidence of apartheid South Africa's involvement in the Lockerbie bombing and asking that the evidence should be tested by US investigators.
On 8 January 1996 Blair Hall, First Secretary at the Embassy, wrote in reply:
Dear Mr. Haseldine: This letter will acknowledge receipt of your correspondence dated January 4, 1996, relating to the bombing of Pan Am 103. The Embassy has forwarded your documents to the Department of State for appropriate consideration.
