Summary

Description
English: Yuzen, a buddhist monk from the Sōtō Zen sect begging at Oigawa, Kyoto. Begging is regarded as one of the duty during training in some sect.
Rinzai (臨済宗)? No. This is not a Soto monk. I would posit that it may not be a monk at all. Most of the public priests begging in tourist spots in Kyoto are not real monks. Besides the fact that his kesa (robe) is missing the telltale white ring, why does he have a portable suitcase?
