en:Five minutes before the formation lap begins, all five red lights will illuminate. After one minute, a light will extinguish. After another minute a second light will extinguish. This continues until all lights are extinguished and the two green lights will illuminate and the formation lap commences. After the formation lap, the red lights will light up one at a time before a short pause and then all of them going out indicating the start of the race. In the event of an aborted start, all five red lights will light up and the three orange lights will flash. Then both red and orange lights are extinguished and the green lights illuminate to indicate another formation lap whilst the problem is dealt with.
