Norsk bokmål: Høyt blodsukker stimulerer utskillelse av insulin. Insulin senker blodsukkeret ved å stimulere vevscellene til å ta opp glukose fra blodet, i tillegg til å stimulere oppbygging av glykogen i leveren. Lavt blodsukker fører til at bukspyttkjertelen skiller ut glukagon. Glukagon øker blodsukkeret ved å stimulere nedbrytning av glykogen til glukose, som blir sluppet ut i blodet fra leveren. |
