Afrikaans: Muntjaks is klein herte van die genus Muntiacus. Hulle is die oudste bekende herte, wat naamlik 15 tot 35 miljoen jaar gelede hul verskyning in die fossielrekord maak, met vondse in Mioseense neerslae in Frankryk, Duitsland en Pole.
English: Muntjac, also known as Barking deer, are small deer of the genus Muntiacus. Muntjac are the oldest known deer, appearing 15-35 million years ago, with remains found in Miocene deposits in France, Germany and Poland.
