Summary

Description
English: Distinctive unit insignia for the 615th Support Battalion. The colors buff (gold) and scarlet represent Support organizations. The division of the shield, per chevron nebuly, further symbolizes support and alludes to association with Aviation. The motto “FORGE THE EDGE,” is recalled by the charges, an anvil and bayonet. The bayonet also denotes readiness and the mission of support to the individual soldier in the field. Black signifies strength and solidarity, scarlet courage and sacrifice. The distinctive unit insignia was approved effective 16 September 1996.
