WP: Three & Notability

[edit]

Three notable sources to help quickly establish the notability of the topic:

See Source 1: This source is the Federal Trade Commision discussing the ping post and ping trees including their rise and abuses within the lead generation industry.

"Lead generation: When the "product" is personal data". Federal Trade Commission. 2017-07-05. Retrieved 2025-02-19.

See Source 29: The is an FTC meeting with Industry insiders within the Lead Geneation industry discussing the mechanics of ping post and ping trees and the billion dollar plus industry around it.

"Follow the Lead: An FTC Workshop on Lead Generation (workshop slides)".

See Source 2: Establishes the size of the digital lead generation industry.

Note to Editors: While ping post enables a multibillion dollar industry, due to its fairly recent emergence (~10 years) most articles that describe in detail the functioning of ping post are industry service providers providing software platforms that utilize the ping post method or government agencies that have been stepping in to try and regulate it (e.g. FTC and FCC).
