Vahdam Teas is an Indian tea brand that caters to Indian and global market. The company was started in 2015 by Bala Sarda.[1]. Started as an online-only brand, Vahdam later moved to brick-and-mortar model with an experience store in Khan Market, Delhi[2].Vahdam ships products to 130 countries[3][4].
History
[edit]Bala Sara's family had been in tea trade for 85 years[5]. However, he wanted to start something different and started Vahdam as an online-only brand. The brand name is basically the anaerobe of his father's name 'Madhav[6]. The Vahdam model sourced tea directly from tea estates in Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiris, Kamgras[7] and sent to consumers with no middlemen[6]. The company first started to build its base in Siliguri, a city close to Kolkata and tea estates. However, because of the moisture that's harmful for tea, they decided to move to Delhi[6]. The company follows carbon and plastic-neutral policies[5].
Reviews
[edit]PopSugar reviewed Vahdam spice box and wrote "In comparison with other spices I've used, these are definitely more impactful, therefore I don't need to use as much to truly get the flavor to come through. These spices are produced in farms local to the origin of the spice and packaged on site to ensure freshness and preserve the flavor."[8]. Today remarked that the Himalyan Green Tea was a certifiable standout however, half the group that sampled disliked the subtle smokyness[9]. Harpersbazaar mentioned that Vahdam products were One-of-a-kind house blends[10]. Vahdam products were part of gift hampers at the show Koffee with Karan[11]. Vahdam was also a part of Favourite Things holiday gift in 2018[12][13] and was part of Emmy awards gift bag[14]
