The Historical Account of the War of Succession following the death of king Pra Interajatsia, 22nd King of Ayuthian Dynasty (Thai: จดหมายเหตุวันวลิต) is an archive related to the events of the Ayutthaya period.

Background[edit]

Written in Dutch by Jeremias van Vliet in 1640, later this book was disappeared until after World War 2, this book was discovered by Professor Seiichi Iwao from the University of Tokyo.

This book has been translated into many other languages such as French, English, for Thai, Krom Phraya Damrong Rajanubhab, please allow Khun Wichitmatra (Sa-nga Kanjanakpan) translated from English and please use the name "Archives of Wanwalit" which originated from the name of the author of this book to make it easy to remember at that time, Khun Wichitmatra could not finish the translation because he was busy with other tasks the translation was published twice, in 1934 and 1947. Later in 1964, the Division of Literature and History, the Fine Arts Department assigned Nanta Sutakul to translate Wanvalit's archives into Thai from beginning to end. And asked Chusri Sawasdi-Songkram, head of the newspaper department, the Division of National Library, who used to be the head of the translation department, Division of Literature and History help review before it was first published the same year.
