Draft:The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de grâce)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de grâce)" is the upcoming twelfth studio album by American rapper Eminem, expected to be released through Shady, Aftermath and Interscope sometime in summer of 2024..[1]

Background[edit]

The album was first hinted by Dr. Dre in early 2024, who, in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! stated Eminem was working on an album to be released sometime that year[2]. Soon after, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Slim Shady LP, Eminem sold merch and uploaded videos of the skits on the album to his Twitter account. Several fans speculated that the album would be a sequel to this album, due to it being the 25th anniversary[3]. On April 25, for the opening of the NFL draft, Eminem appeared with several others and "Not Afraid" was played[4]. Later that night, a trailer for the album was released on Eminem's YouTube channel, featuring Jimmy Kimmel and 50 Cent. The trailer acts as a True Crime trailer, displaying Slim Shady killed[5]
