Reception[edit]

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 80% of 10 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 6.50/10. Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter called it a "film that's definitely worth catching on the big screen."[4] Todd Gilchrist of Variety wrote "Less a celebration of the U.S. Navy’s Mavericks than its Top Guns, the film focuses on several pilots as they learn the difficult choreography and rigorous standards maintained by the squadron."[5] Giovanni Lago of Next Best Picture wrote "There isn't entirely much below the surface that leaves any profound reason to remember it, but when those planes are up in the air, you can’t help but be impressed, even if it’s only for brief moments at a time."[6]
