Draft:Slim Jxmmi
Submission declined on 13 January 2024 by Robert McClenon (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. The proposed article does not have sufficient content to require an article of its own, but it could be merged into the existing article at Rae Sremmurd. Since anyone can edit Wikipedia, you are welcome to add that information yourself. Thank you.

- Comment: This draft is for a title that was previously an article, but was then cut down to a redirect. If this draft is accepted, the history should be preserved. Do not tag the redirect for G6. Reviewers should check the history and verify whether there was a consensus to cut the article down to a redirect, or whether the action was taken boldly without discussion. If there was a consensus for the cutdown, do not accept this draft without verifying that the draft improves the article or that consensus has changed. If in doubt, please discuss.See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Slim Jxmmi, and a history of questionable recreation. This draft is a draft on a subtopic of an existing article, Rae Sremmurd. Discussion as to whether a separate article for the subtopic is warranted should be on the talk page of the parent article, Talk:Rae Sremmurd. Please discuss the suitability of creating a separate subtopic article on the talk page of the parent article. Please resubmit this draft if there is rough consensus at the parent talk page to create the child article, or with an explanation that the child draft satisfies either general notability on its own or a special notability guide..This title is a locked redirect, and will require admin action to unlock, or to accept this draft, so a very strong case will need to be made for acceptance of this draft. Aaquil IbenShaman Brown[3] (born December 29, 1991), known professionally as Slim Jxmmi,[4] is an American rapper, singer and songwriter.[5] He initially rose to fame as one half of the hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd, which he formed with his brother Swae Lee.[6] The duo released their debut album, SremmLife, which was certified platinum by the RIAA.[7] In 2018, he released his debut solo song "Brxnks Truck",[8] which earned him his first top ten on the Billboard Hot 100, preceding his debut album, Jxmtro (2018). The album peaked at number six on the US Billboard 200.
Early life[edit]
Jxmmi was born in Inglewood, California.[9] He was raised by his mother and has only one younger brother. Slim Jxmmi started making music at age twenty,[10] and he was influenced by the likes of Eminem.[11] After graduating high school, he and his brother, had a period of homelessness in which they squatted in an abandoned house.[12][13]
Career[edit]
Slim Jxmmi was signed to Mike Will Made It's label EarDrummers Entertainment as a member of Rae Sremmurd. On May 18, 2014, they released their debut single "No Flex Zone". It peaked at number 36 on the "Billboard" Hot 100.[14] In 2014, they released "Throw Sum Mo" alongside Nicki Minaj and Young Thug.[15] In December 2015, Jxmmi was featured on Post Malone's "White Iverson" (Remix) alongside French Montana.[16]
In 2016, he was featured on Gun's "Johnny Cage" (Remix) alongside Key!.[17] In September 2016, Jxmmi was featured on Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" alongside Gucci Mane.[18] In May 2017, he was featured on Riff Raff's "Tip Toe 2".[19] In December 2018, Jxmmi released "Nothing for Christmas", produced by Mike Will Made It.[20]
In May 2017, Jxmmi was featured on French Montana's "Unforgettable" (Remix).[21] The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Jxmmi's first top ten single on the chart as a solo artist.[22] In 2017, Jxmmi was featured on Gucci Mane's "Stunting Ain't Nuthin" from his album Mr. Davis alongside Young Dolph.[23] The song peaked at ninety five on the Billboard Hot 100. In April 2018, Swae Lee featured Jxmmi on his track Guatemala.[24][25] The song peaked at number eighty-four on the Billboard Hot 100.[26][27] In February 2018, he released "Brxnks Truck", and became his first single as solo artist.[28][29] He was also featured on Mike Will Made It's "Choppin' Blades", which also featured artist Riff Raff.[30]
On May 4, 2018, almost two years after its initial announcement in August 2016, Jxmmi released his debut solo album, Jxmtro, as a part of a triple album set, which also contained Rae Sremmurd's third studio album, SR3MM and Swae Lee's debut studio album as a solo artist, Swaecation.[31][32] On December 2, 2022, Jxmmi was featured on Desiigner's song "Kilo".[33][34] He is known for his high-energy and melodic raps.[35]
Allegations[edit]
Jxmmi’s ex-girlfriend rehashed her assault allegations against the rapper after posing with Sukihana. Report surfaced in September 2020 that Jxmmi punched her in the face and knocked one of her front teeth out, when she was six months pregnant.[36][37]
Legal issues[edit]
In January 2022, he was arrested at northwest Miami apartment and charged with misdemeanor battery, after an alleged fight with his girlfriend.[38][39] On August, 7, 2022, he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport, after border authorities discovered outstanding warrant for his arrest in Georgia.[40][41]
