Okpella Development Association - USA (ODA-USA) is a nonprofit community development organization focused on the cultural, medical, and economic improvement of Okpellaland, the interconnected villages of Okpella, Edo State, Nigeria [1]. The organization focuses on community development initiatives in both Okpella, and among US diaspora communities in California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas. It is recognized as a chapter club of Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW), an organization that promotes unity, solidarity, and patriotism among the global Edo community[2].

History
[edit]Okpella Development Association (ODA-USA) was founded by members of Okpella's US diaspora [3] in 1999 and has since focused on improving community experiences in Okpellaland and among members of the US diaspora.
On July 5th, 2019, ODA-USA celebrated its 20th year anniversary with a celebration and fundraising event, themed as "Health is Wealth". During the event, the former ODA-USA President Mrs. Victoria Momoh-Salau described the benefit of ODA-USA medical missions in Okpellaland. Also, the former ODA-USA Vice Chairman Dr. Charles O. Kerobo stressed the importance of organizational partnerships to more closely reach indigenes of Okpellaland and Edo State globally.[1]
Mission
[edit]As a stakeholder and partner in Okpella's development, Okpella Development Association's (ODA-USA) mission focuses on cultural, medical, and economic projects that will be helpful to all of Okpellaland. ODA-USA also collaborates with public and private entities that share interest in locating social amenities and industrial developments in Okpella. ODA-USA's goal is to spark cultural, medical, and economic growth among Okpella indigenes globally, influencing the development of Okpella into a modern and vibrant town.
