Draft:Lun Olive Gardens

  • Comment: A gentle decline. The first reference isn't found when clicked on. And three references would be needed. These do not have to be in English, and I am curious about the gardens. Note, the second reference refers to them as the Olive Gardens of Lun. I'm curious as to whether there is a consistent English name for the area.

Lun Olive Gardens

This park is located on the northern tip of the island Pag in Croatia. It includes 80,000 olive trees, one of which is claimed to be 2000 years old and another 1600 years old. It also includes one of the largest forests of wild olive trees in the world. Some trees have explanatory signs for visitors. The size of the park is 24 hectares.[1]

The Lun Olive Gardens were protected and became a botanical reserve in 1963. An EU project further developed the gardens from 2010 onwards.[2]
