Draft:Levi G. McCathern

  • Comment: Notability appears dependent on clients not on the subject's own achievements. Excepting the clients, the draft article has just two citations; early life is completely devoid of references. Needs clear evidence of notability, ie: significant coverage in reliable, independent, secondary sources. Paul W (talk) 19:14, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Levi G. McCathern, II is a lawyer based in Dallas, Texas and Partner at the law firm of McCathern, PLLC (d/b/a "McCathern, Shokouhi, Evans").[1]

Early life and education[edit]

McCathern was born in the Texas Panhandle town of Perryton, Texas and raised in Snyder, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 1990, graduating magna cum laude and being selected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. In 1993, he earned a Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of Barristers.

In 1998, he founded McCathern Wadlington Mooty, LLP, the precursor to McCathern, PLLC. McCathern became Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law in 2003 and Labor and Employment Law in 2005.[2]

McCathern, PLLC was named to the SMU Cox Dallas 100™ list in 2011[3] and 2022[4], and Levi was interviewed in the web series The Road to the Dallas 100™ about his legal career.[5]

McCathern's clients have included the Dallas Cowboys,[6] Jerry Jones,[7] Michael Irvin,[8] Reggie Bush,[9] and real estate developer Bill Hutchinson.[10]

In 2011, McCathern shot a 14-foot, 900 lb. alligator along the Trinity River in Leon County after tracking it for two days.[11][12] McCathern and three guides were later charged with illegally hunting on private property.

At a private ceremony in Jacksonville, Florida, client Reggie Bush was joined by his attorneys Levi McCathern and Ben Crump to accept the return of his 2005 Heisman Trophy.[1]
